The McKay Cross Foundation was founded to assist developmentally and physically challenged adults and individuals with high complex care needs to live a comfortable and meaningful life.
The McKay Cross Foundation was privately financed with the realization that adults with special needs are woefully underfunded by provincial and other sources and aims, in some small way, to alleviate this shortcoming.
The McKay Cross Foundation will fund, or partially fund, up to $5,000 but will consider up to $10,000 in exceptional circumstances, for projects that:
- are based in the Province of Ontario and are associated with a registered charitable organization,
- are innovative new projects that have the potential to enhance the lives of disabled adults,
- existing programs proven effective in enriching the daily lives of individuals with physical, developmental and complex care needs, and/or
- provide training for caregivers to improve their skills in tending to the needs of adult with special needs
